Be A Tree - Program for Kids

The "Be a Tree" program is a bite prevention seminar for school age children. This innovative and interactive program was created by the non-profit organization Doggone Safe. A dog may look happy, wagging his tail and panting, but he may actually be anxious and ready to jump or bite.  In this program, children learn how to read a dog's body language and how to act safely around dogs through the use of large format photographs and interactive games.  The “Be a Tree” program is unique in its use of several different teaching strategies focusing on physical activity and emphasizing positive messages. Instead of telling children what not to do, it empowers them with the knowledge they need to make safe decisions based on the dog's body language, actions, and the situation at hand. Please contact Carolina Pup Scouts for more information or to schedule a presentation for your school or group.
