Surviving Puppyhood Class
That cute little puppy got you chasing your tail? We’ll help you survive (and enjoy) puppyhood and help you grow your pup into the well-behaved adult companion you look forward to. Don't believe the old cliché which advises waiting until your dog is six months or a year old before starting to train him! Doing so will only lead to a young adult dog with unstructured behavior and many problems which could have been avoided. By starting your puppy early, you will establish proper behavior right from the start.
Basic FUNdamentals
If you’ve never taken your dog to a class before, or if you just want a refresher, this is the class for you. The class will address basic commands, manners, and distraction training while giving you direction for any annoying doggie habits you may be dealing with. We will help you establish a healthy, long-lasting relationship with your dog using positive training. You will learn how to teach your dog behaviors such as sit, down, watch, come, stay, leave it, target, loose-leash walking, and more. Please note: The first week is an orientation session without your dog. This session is full of human examples and analogies to help you understand the ways that dogs learn, how these are similar to and different from how humans learn.
Rally For Fun
Rally (or Rally Obedience) is an interactive dog sport that combines skills learned for basic and competition obedience exercises into a course where the dog and handler move from station to station completing each exercise. It is intended to be an opportunity to practice and advance the skills learned in your basic Obedience classes. Teamwork and fun will be emphasized in this class! Young, old, pure breed dogs and mixed breed dogs, handicapped and fully-functioning are welcome in Rally! This class is best for dogs that have successfully completed Basic FUNdamentals. Really Reliable Recall Everyone wants a dog who comes when called, everytime, no matter what. This short course will teach you how to create that response in your dog, without force or corrections. Based on Leslie Nelson’s popular book "Really Reliable Recall", we’ll take you through the steps to condition your dog to run to you immediately whenever you call.
Trails & Tails
This is offering an exciting new class that lets you explore nature, enjoy amazing scenery, and put to use all the great behaviors you’ve taught your dog. This new class offers a one or two hour hike where we walk, work on leash manners, and practice recall using long leads. During this group setting you and your dog will form lasting friendships while you exercise and socialize with other hikers and their pets. This class is best for dogs that have successfully completed Basic FUNdamentals.
K9 Games
Looking for a fun way to practice your dog’s basic skills? Join us for K9 Games where games go to the dogs! Not your typical obedience class, K9 Games is a fun, fast-paced class where you and your dog will practice foundation behaviors like sit, down, stay and walking politely on leash in the context of games. Try your hand at “Ruff Light, Green Light,” "Tic Tac Toe", “Ball-Toss Stays,” and “Ultimate Walking Challenge” and more. Dogs should be able to sit, down, walk on lead, and have a basic "stay". This offering is a manners/obedience challenge; behaviors will not be taught, but practiced and improved upon in a series of games. This class is best for dogs that have successfully completed Basic FUNdamentals.
